How do songs get placed and ordered on the music charts?

This is so pointless though we would unequivocally similar to to know how songs get systematic in a strain charts.
Eg. “One Sweet Day - Mariah Carey & Boys II Men” hold series a single place for sixteen weeks! ‘that’s a longest a strain has ever stayed during no.1′
But we do not get how a complement works….like does it have to dowith sales?……please discuss it me THANKS!

    yes it has to do with sales. mostly it’s the big artists signed by big labels.

    it has always supposed to be all about sales,the more they sell the higher they go and the longer they stay there.

    Most of the time, it’s how much it sells.

    Sometimes charts count by how much airplay it receives during that particular week, like the American Top 40 that Ryan Seacrest hosts during the weekends.
