yes it has to do with sales. mostly it’s the big artists signed by big labels.

it has always supposed to be all about sales,the more they sell the higher they go and the longer they stay there.

Most of the time, it’s how much it sells.
Sometimes charts count by how much airplay it receives during that particular week, like the American Top 40 that Ryan Seacrest hosts during the weekends.

The fans have alot to do with how they place and the number of albums sold too!
