That sounds great. Keith has really studied the original masters well. Thanks for posting

  2. gillesmustang82 Says:

How come he can roll of riffs like these but the Stones can write great songs anymore? My favourite band ever but they should do an album with Keith player guitar like this and build it into songs.

oh and for the record.. the piece that he tries to play at around the 0:33 mark.. same riff he always plays.. check out the fender 40 year celebration video .. though back then he was actually able to pull it off… please.. absolutely no integrity..

  8. mdpenning Says:

bonecracker23 , i have to agree with you, if their is no integrity then what is the point? just another wanker who can play some blues riffs.. the blues is about passion and soul, not make up and visual effects.. anyone can play the blues, few can own it .. as for the rest of you making comments.. integrity.. one simple word.. p.s keith is a great, but certainly not definitive.. their is a difference

    Just brilliant. . .

I don’t think so but I could be misled by the Richard’s interview in Guitar Player Magazine… the 5 string Blonde Telecaster he plays w/custom string spacing has modified tuning & but right, he does use open tunings on many songs. Ron plays the straight guitar to Keith’s tunings! Give the guy a little credit! I guess “dafty” means something to YOU but there are likely other fans who may disagree with your thoughts. Thank you for your comment although it could have been said more tastefully.

  11. TheBrownGoat Says:

haha ’special’ tuning. its just an open tuning ya dafty

  12. TheNathanGranville Says:

    badass blues jam…

dude yessss. so true. keiths my hero

  15. StefioProductions Says:

Keef is not only a creative blues player and stylish in his playing, he created so many blues riffs and recognizable hits and uses a special tuning too! Who cares how he looks or dresses or acts - this guy earned every second of praise from those who know guitar playing. Lucky he’s still still and we are blessed with his music and have this legend still with us. Forget about the “other” Glimmer Twin - Keef is THE MAN and has always been! He even out shined Brian too, even before he drowned.

  16. johnc310 Says:

if hes showing off its coz hes Keith Richards! He does whatever he wants, his style has always been like that.If he was a boring overly technical player then the stones wouldn’t have captured our imagination the way they did!

  17. kyle85602 Says:

Just as the blues-men got, the old rockers get respect from some and not from others. It’s not a lot different for someone like Keith Richards than it was for someone like John Lee Hooker (aside from possible racism, but that’s an entirely different subject), it’s just that when you hear about the old school blues-men, you usually hear about them from people who loved them and so you get that side, but with guys like Keith, you’re seeing it as it happens so you’re seeing both sides

  18. kyle85602 Says:

“If you got it, flaunt it”, right?

The blues-men of the past were living legends and so is Keith, but it has nothing to do with wearing makeup and dressing like a pirate, it’s his playing, it’s what he’s doing in this video. If he comes off as a show off or arrogant it’s probably because he knows his guitar playing is what made him what he is.

  19. bonecracker23 Says:

    Well you’re probably right.
I’m no Keith Richards expert^^, but it was the feeling I had when I watched the vid…

  20. hatfield223 Says:

Has as much to do with the style and fashions of the times. Men in Robert Johnson’s time didn’t wear makeup, period, although Johnson himself was a pretty snappy dresser.

You’re way off the mark on Keith Richards.

  21. bonecracker23 Says:

I just hate how this guy is a show off, he’s faking humility, sure he’s good but nothing really exceptionnal. The real blues guy’s didn’t need to wear make up and dress like pirates to be living legends, and that’s symptomatic of the stones and rock’n roll in general, appearance always came before honesty, music and soul…As a result : good rock players but really lame and shitty bluesmen^^

  22. etheangel2220 Says:

its kind of sad how these old rockers get treated. I think about how all those old blues guys were admired way back. they were revered as living artifacts of a time long past. Now guys like the Stones are as old as the blues guys were when they were being rediscovered. the old rockers dont get the same kind of respect for some reason

Everyone Appears Tew Agree With Me… :)
    Lameass. :D
