Wristbands and they do nothing. Just a look.

They’re right some are just armbands that are just for looks. The other things seen on players are half sleeves to avoid turf burn, armbands that have the plays stored on them, and wrist tape.

Yea i went to that usc - penn state game. i saw mark sanchez had a band on there elbows. i play football for high and i dont use them but my friends use them because most of the time the field is turf. so you wear arm bands to protect ur elbows from “turf burn”. if on grass you use it just to make it look good. But good question cause my brother asked me the same thing during the game.
