I had the lumbar puncture finished as well as the formula had eighteen IgG monoclonal bands in CSF not manifest in serum, 2+ oligoclonal bands in immunoglobin not benefaction in serum as well as incraesed IgG in CSF. Does any the single know what monoclonal bands have been as well as what this all means? we have the neuro appt Friday, though have these formula which we am extraordinary about now. Thanks!

The elevated IgG and multiple oligoclonal bands are suggestive of multiple sclerosis.
Normally large proteins such as IgG are more dilute in CSF… that you have elevated levels of them would seem to indicate that there is some weakness in the blood-brain barrier which allows them to sneak across. Likewise, though many people might have one distinct oligoclonal band or a diffuse one, to have many distinct ones not in serum again suggests multiple sclerosis specfically.
But that’s just a thumbnail analysis. Still see your doctor!
